Thank god it's Friday.

Angry Cat is Angry.
BTW, if you want to make me happy. I have an impending birthday soon but instead of buying me a pressie (if I know you in RL, that is!), please donate some cash here. These guys really need your pennies.

I just adore a dramatic skyline.

My dreams have been most strange of late, probably due to mild fever and anti-depressant meds but not unpleasant. There has also been a high degree of lucidity in them, akin to directing my own little movies. No zombies thankfully but a lot of NYC and some old, missed and long gone friends. I'm not feeling melancholy in the slightest, it's good to have memories of old but one has to move on and generate new experiences.
Salut, old friends!

I gave the Twilight homage shot a second pass.

I wanted the emphasis more on the apple. The connotations of this piece are almost eden-like. The concept is the offer is often tainted with some kind of hidden price or cost - if the person receiving the apple concentrates more on the gift than the giver, there is a price to be paid. Hence the hands coming out from the shadows and the darkness that envelopes the person offering the gift.
I didn't even realise the closeness of my image to the original book cover. I've had this image in my head for quite a while, a couple of years maybe. Anyway, on a different tangent we're off to IKEA to look at shelf type things. Will be good to get out of B'ham after the disappointment of yesterday's SnoozeFest.

Brum Artsfest this year is to be honest, a bit crap. Very samey, no provision for photographers and the like (apart from a select few who have "assimilated" all the duties for that and not left it open, or at least seemingy open).
No innovative stuff, lack of interesting music and a dearth of politically correct stores has made for more of a snooze fest than an Arts Fest.

So, here is a memory of happier days and much less pretentious stuff.
Here's hoping they get their act together next year (on both the performance and photo opps side)

Half way though the week, thankfully!

I just thought was too cute not to share. Linda does love her Sanrio characters!

Off to see a Sci Fi movie today!

But can we see a return to the retro styles of the 50's/60's/70's. There were some real gems in there. Hell, give me Barbarella over Twilight or the like anyday!

I still have that photoshoot in mind, a kind of a homage to the evil queen from Sleeping Beauty at the back of my head (but a little more abstract)

Still, I have to badger Linda into the shoot this weekend.

Not at all sure what to do today!

Not sure about Warwick, as this is where the picture above was taken as it will be full of tourists today.
We were going to head to Derby/The Peak District but the weather is not too fab for that. (It was meant to be a trip inspired by this movie, I was really looking forward to tracking down the locations it used during shooting)

It's been a strange day as work goes. Roll on the weekend.

If I can manage some photographic enthusiasm, I want to get out into Brum and shoot more stuff around the library area as there are some good sights. This was taken of Linda in wintertime. I like the way she's frozen in time yet it was sooooo windy!

My lovely assistant!

Always ready to lend a hand during a photoshoot.
I have realised I haven't written anything of substance here of late, possibly due to being majorly busy with work and trying to stay away from computers during weekday evenings and during the weekend. To be honest, I haven't felt much of an urge to write as there is nothing nagging away at me or making me that cross that I just have to comment/rant/seal my disdain with a choice set of words.
I have been prepping for a major work thing that will take me to London in a couple of weeks, that's really been consuming my thoughts as it is legal stuff that I've been carrying out/doing the investigative duties. I guess this could make or break me. Hopefully the former...
