Today is the fifth anniversary since the death of my father. We weren't what you would call "close" but it's still a day to think back and reflect about all those memories I had of him.
It doesn't seem like five years and so much has happened since. I do miss him though.

Today had one of those amazing views across the sky.
This photo wasn't as "cold". It was quite difficult to describe as the view was overcast and hail was falling from above but then the clouds passed to give a glimpse of sunlight and everything seemed to slow down for a moment. The temperature dropped but the wind died down for a time and even the traffic seemed to become quiet. It reminded me of my time in Tuscon AZ where I stood at a roadside and watched the sun go down. It was cold but a warmth gripped me. Rather wonderful. Wish I had the writing skills to capture the intensity of it. But I haven't. So you'll just have to imagine it.

Something to remind me of warmer days.
Just had the chimney repointed and bricks replaced and this will hopefully localise a small leak of rainwater into the house. Three hundred quid lighter but at least bricks won't fall on our heads or through the roof now.

I needed cheering up today after sleeping for most of it and Linda always brings a smile to my face...

In other news from Planet Me, signed off until Friday and have been told to rest up. Which I have been doing. On doctor's orders. I have to admit there have been a host of weird dreams this afternoon. My insanity levels must be quite high right now ;)

Things have been a little frantic of late, my health took a bit of a dive in a similar way to 2009 with a small period of depression that I couldn't shake during the Xmas period. I had the day off work today to rest up due to extreme physical tiredness and an instance of anxiety. Slept most of today but I am back at the doctor's tomorrow. Thankfully I am nowhere near as bad as I was in November 2008 where I lost almost 5 months of my life to depression and anxiety disorders.
Today has meant lots of rest under a very warm duvet and I feel much more human at this point but something is still clinging away at the back of my mind but the meds I am on help me put things into perspective a lot more now so I have the energy to deal with things.
Anyhoo, you're probably bored now so here is a picture of a cat.
I find a cat picture can brighten most people's days. Still, at least there is no more snow now! ;)

Spring still hasn't sprung!
It was most weird to hear birds at 6:15 am while it was still dark. And the most wonderful black kitty cat crossed my path and meowed at me until I paid her some attention on my way to work this morning. A good end to the working week.
