I'm looking to shoot as much stuff as I can so a nice light weight tripod is on the shopping list right now.
Anyone know if my EOS 5D battery charger is compatible with US voltage?

Your 5D charger should be the same as mine and that quotes '100V-240V AC50/60hz'
The US is 110V and 60Hz, so you should be fine.
You might find B&H Photo Video in New York a better source for a tripod. The problem with lightweight means they can be a bit flimsy. Study lightweight are usually carbon fibre, which cost a fair bit. It's said with tripods buy cheap, buy twice!kc
