"Has Canon finally developed a wireless flash system yet?"
To add to Trav's comment, yes you can slave off a 550, 580 (Mk I&II).
In my case I use the ST-E2 Transmitter. Range is a little bit limiting (though 20 metres is fine so long as the speedlites can see the ST-E2. Though the speedlites make it easier as the heads are twistable).
I use the remote setup in my lighttent to shoot products.

Yea! I look foward to the new shots. I'm sure they will be more interesting than my latest stuff on Flickr.
If all works out, there may be someone teaming up with Linda for the shoot :)
there will be i promise :)
yay! You'd better ;)
Enjoy, if you need any flash kit let me know. Not using any of my stands/umbrella/remote/430ex for a few weeks.
Got a wedding (well blessing) to shoot in 3 weeks, last weekend's unofficial wedding shots went well. The sister in law is happy :)
Cheers mate, but I am a bit crap with multiple equipment but that's a mighty kind offer!!!
Thank you!! :D
It's quite easy as the eos and speedlite do al the work!

Well, you slave two units off one master. Personally, I haven't tried this as I have only one spedlight but there are ways and means.
